Where
Creative Writing Comes Naturally
Finally
the hidden purpose behind an infinite array of unrelated jobs
has come to fruition. My
three-page resume is crammed full
of comparatively outlandish titles. I’ve worked in the highlands
of Peru collecting archaic stone tools, I’ve lived in South
Carolina managing social groups of Rhesus Macaques, I’ve
sold African Safaris to wealthy globetrotters and I’ve been
the VP of sales for an event marketing company. Between stints,
I’ve meandered the globe, returning for love and need of
family, friends and money. In between each journey, I’ve
somehow managed to swing the temporary, and always atypical, job.
As the novelty wore off of each, so too, has many a career path.
From the moment I selected my Physical Anthropology major at UC
Santa Barbara, I knew it was for the love of learning, and not
of money, that would guide my life journey. From those early career-building
days, my logic has been incessantly questioned by those possessing
clearer and more responsible visions of their future. Today, I
am grateful, that I never listened.
Writing, a passion since childhood, has enabled me to immortalize
my collective experiences, including those yet to be discovered,
and shape them into creative tales that satisfy my soul and ideally,
engage my readers.
